The Beginning
The choir was formed in 2004 when Ilma Scantlebury (President) and the Rev. David Gray attended a candlelit Christmas community service at the then derelict Gorton Monastery in December 2000.
A Gospel choir performed at that event which gave everyone who attended such a good vibrational and uplifting experience that Ilma, who was then the Community Art Director based at the Angels, and David, decided that was what was needed in Gorton.

The Choir membership has increased year by year from just six to approximately thirty members, and is still rising. Members are local people from Gorton and surrounding areas of Manchester and include all ages.
